Only Child of Peter and Linda Andrews, Killed in a road crash (other driver found guilty of Causing Death by dangerous driving).
Paul was our World, Life will never be the same without him,He was such a caring and giving lad nothing was to much trouble, he organised and run a charity called (Kids Who Care) from the age of 11 years old at Tuxford Comprehensive school benefitting a variety of organisations locally, He also run a Beaver Scout group in Ordsall Retford Notts, He was affectionately known as MOUSE by all his little beavers. Paul was a True Kid Who Cared.
We'll always miss you
He was one of those people who did what was right, always cared, always made the effort, helped young people/old people and all the ages in the middle - a lad that you would have been thrilled if your daughter brought home!
I first met him at his home, having been pals with his mum through working together. We used to get together on Thursday nights, drink a ton of cuppas (funnily enough, always made by Paul or his Dad, Peter - well, we were too busy chatting and putting the world to rights to boil our own kettle!) and munch our way through a small mountain of biscuits!
I found him to be one of the nicest boys/men I've ever known - always putting others first and going out of his way to be helpful. He used to show me newspaper clippings and letters he had collected through his charity work - and was always beaming with pride as he did so. I don't think I ever saw him miserable once, and I spent a lot of time in that house!
As the years rolled by, he stood fast to his principles - never one to follow the crowd and do what everyone else his age was doing. He made up his own mind about what was right and how he wanted to spend his time and did just that - what a different place the world would be if we all did the RIGHT thing instead of just the easiest?
He was certainly growing up though - and getting a little more confident - even a tad cheeky from time to time as he became 'one of us grown-ups' and not just Linda & Pete's son!
Passing his driving test and getting his little car was one of his proudest moments - and he even took me down to McDonalds to get caramel sundaes for the family to celebrate - no champagne for us, we know how to celebrate properly!
He was a model employee too and gained more confidence as the extra duties and promotions followed - but never cocky - he just worked hard and was thrilled when he was rewarded for it.
The day I found out we had lost him, I was about to go away for the weekend (It was my mum's 50th birthday - so we were having a girlie weekend) and I spent the whole time in a state of shock and disbelief. It was so hard to come to terms with the fact that he was never going to come bounding into the front room full of news of what had happened since I was last there. Even as the years have passed, I still sometimes expect him to walk back in as if nothing happened.
I know we can't all live forever, but this is one lad who should have outlived us all - the world is a far less lively place without him in it.
The only consolation we have is that Heaven will have been completely organised by the time we get there - he won't have rested until he's sorted that out!
Love always
Lesley & Xena (the wonkey donkey)
